Use have + something + done (past participle) to
describe a service done for you by someone else.
I had the tires checked. We had our photo taken
Where can I have my car repaired? Are you going to have the
roof fixed?

Use have + person + verb to
indicate who did the service for you.
We had the plumber fix the
dripping faucet. We had the store
deliver the purchases.
Need + gerund or passive infinitive
Use needs doing or needs to be done to talk about things that need to be fixed, checked,
Cleaned, washed, repaired, replaced,
etc.
The freezer needs fixing. The
freezer needs to be fixed.
